10/03 – Present Maxwell Shoe Company Inc.

·         Enhancement project to expand the length of the Order Number, Invoice Number and Pick ticket number fields throughout “Computer Generated Solutions ACS” software package.  Several hundred programs and files were involved.  Soft Landing’s change management package “Turnover” was used for managing the project.  All work was done on the IBM AS/400 using RPGILE.

·         GWG project leader for new Win/DSS interface. 

·         Interface included several other various POS systems for newly acquired chains.  Wolf was upgrading from 4r? to JDA MMS 4r4. 

·         The GWG team also advised CSHREP and S/A configuration changes due to the upgrade to 4r4 and the new POS systems. 

·         Provided Systems analysis and programming support for interface.

 

Franks Nursery & Crafts (Detroit, MI) (New JDA install)

·         Project Leader for the conversion of data from the Mainframe and Island Pacific system to JDA version 4R4 on a multi-processor AS/400. 

·         AS/400 training and instruction for all in-house personnel.  Instruction consisted of the technical aspects of JDA, RPGIII and RPGILE coding.  In addition, instruction included: basics of AS/400 Job Control, operations, multi-processor application design and anything else required by their programmers to perform their job.

·         For the Payroll-deduction department, created applications and merge letters using Office/400.

·         Migrated a single company insurance payroll deductions system (PROBES) from an AS/400 B20 to a model F7.

·         Modified the software for multi-company capabilities.  Citizen’s Insurance will be using the package along with Allmerica’s Atlanta office when the project is completed.

 

Amtrol Inc., East Greenwich, RI.  (Medium size Manufacturing)

·         Wrote an AP Invoice matching application to automatically match Data-3 PO Receipts to S2K AP invoice vouchers. 

·         Wrote a Labor/production forecasting system for Data-3. 

·         Installed version upgrades to their Warehouse/Shipping Logistics software (A.R.Traffic).

 

Med-Tac Insurance, Newton, MA.

·         Trained a new System Operator. 

·         Trained new programmer in RPG.

·         Helped with general application problems between training.

 

Amtrol Inc., East Greenwich, RI.

·         Installed upgrades to Software 2000 Payroll, HR, and A/P systems.

·         Installed upgrades to HFA order processing software.

·         Designed and wrote a Freight-Allocations system that processed freight-charges from A/P, a UPS manifest package, freight reimbursements and an outside freight billing service then pro-rated them back to the actual sales of the product.

·         Evaluated several Logistics packages selecting CALCRATE by AR Traffic Consultants.  Interfaced it to HFA Order processing for quotation purposes and with the BOL system at ship verification time for the actual freight rating. 

·         Wrote an interface for AR Traffic’s manifest package, CALCPACK, used for UPS and RPS shipments.

·         Data migration from an IBM Sys/38 to an IBM RISC/6000.

Hanover Insurance Company, Worcester, Ma.

·         For the Payroll-deduction department, helped to modify a new Payroll-Deduction system (PROBES).  This system provided invoicing, notices, billing and was used to process outside insurance companies Group-insurance payroll deduction processing.  All coding was COBOL/400.  All forms were created in Office merging graphics generated in OS2/Image then merged with data in the PROBES system.

 

Fidelity Capital (Boston Coach), 100 Summer St., Boston MA)

·         Wrote a time tracking system for Boston Coach Employees to use a computer terminal to punch in and out rather than a time-clock/p.c.

·         Maintenance and enhancements on the Coach Reservation system.

 

Fidelity Corporation, 100 Summer St., Boston MA

·         For the Corporate Finance department, Peter performed as a senior programmer/analyst.

·         Maintained a ShawWare (Marcam) Accounts-Payable package, making extensive modifications to Invoicing, Purchasing, and Check-Cycle.  He integrated an Auto-Unpend process into the Invoice cycle.

 

Amtrol Inc., East Greenwich, RI. (A large manufacturer of water and expansion tanks)

·         In-house software consisted of Data3 manufacturing, S2K financial and HFA order processing.  Peter provided migration support from a DEC system to HFA software running on an AS/400. 

·         Responsibilities included all A/R, Sales, and Order-entry data migration.

·         Designed and coded a Cost of Goods reporting system. 

·         Set up PC Support to run in a Windows/Novell NetWare/Token ring environment.  Added Icons for AS/400 and PC support functions to a Windows group, and set up company wide configuration that provided sufficient memory using QEMM to allow Novel, Windows applications and several AS/400 sessions to run simultaneously.  He distributed this configuration to individual user PC's.

 

Stop & Shop Corporate, Quincy, MA (Large Grocery Chain)

·         Assisted with the conversion of a COBOL Sales-Projection system from Wang-VS to the AS/400.  The IBM conversion tool was used as part of the conversion.

 

Star Market, Cambridge, MA (Large Grocery Chain) 

·         Peter converted several WSU programs from the System/36 to the AS/400. 

·         Designed and programmed a Driver /Tractor/Trailer tracking system

·         Provided assistance installing PC Support, and offered instruction on setting up and tuning PC’s with both 5250 emulation and Token ring.

·         Wrote APPC programs USING LU6.2 protocol that received and sent random sized files between the AS/400 and CICS.  Configuring the AS/400 for this type of communications was also part of the project.  He originally wrote the programs in COBOL on the S/36.

 

Titleist / Foot-Joy Worldwide, Acushnet, MA

·         Project Leader on the migration/consolidation of Foot-Joy’s data on a HP-3000 with Titleist-Worldwide data on a new HFA package on the AS/400.

A consultant until promoted to a Systems-Manager for the Mid-Range group of personnel in January 1988.  Peter operated his own P&L and was completely responsible for hiring, and management of all staff classified as "mid-range".  At the same time marketed and billed as much as possible.

 

Stonehill College, North Eastern, MA

·         Assisted Stonehill with the selection, and installation of an AS/400 model B45 through the IBM MAP program. 

·         Participated in the review of several educational software packages and final selection of registration, bursars, financial, and housing software.

·         Installed an Ethernet network.

·         Provided on site technical and systems training.

 

Garelic Farms, Franklin, MA (The largest New England Dairy)

·         Provided AS/400 technical and systems training to management personnel.

 

Amphora Systems, Lincoln, RI 

·         On an AS/400, modified an Order-Entry Voice/Data system to transfer orders being entered by touch-tone telephone to a waiting operator if the customer pressed #8 on the transceiver

 

State Mutual Assurance Companies (Currently Allmerica), Worcester, MA 

·         Developed a Group Issuance System on an AS/400 using API with OfficeVision/400.  Working with a team of 5 consultants I was responsible for all CL programming, System performance tuning, job performance and routing to specific subsystems, system technical training and support. 

·         Worked directly with IBM at Copley to develop methods to interface with and debug Office-Vision.

·         All development accomplished using COBOL/400.

·         Participated in the installation of 24 AS/400's through the IBM MAP program. 

·         Responsible for the transfer of data from a 3090 through a host AS/400 to remote AS/400's then down to PC's via Net View DM and PC Support. 

·         I also converted several policy reporting systems to the AS/400

·         Created a maintenance system that edited Standard & Poor and Moody ratings then automatically downloaded the data to a Lotus spreadsheet on a PC. 

·         Wrote user startup programs and developed report design standards that allowed any report from the AS/400 to go to any printer and print correctly.  The printers included banks of HP Laser series III, Epson, and various other system and PC printers.

·         Helped with the installation of an AS/400. 

·         Worked to set up user profiles and system configuration.

 

Spirol Industries, Danielson, CT (mid-sized manufacturing company)

·         Performed as an Analyst/Programmer rewriting and maintaining primary systems for both domestic and international facilities. 

·         Performed modifications to their multi company Order-entry/Sales Analysis system.

·         Rewrote and brought up to modern standards an RTC purchasing system, designed a multi currency conversion system, and decentralized the purchasing department. 

·         Designed and programmed a multi company warehouse inventory system and integrated it into the purchasing and receipt posting system. 

·         Nine-month project to design, program and implement a report generator for orders/sales/manpower statistical and projection information.  All development was on the IBM System/38 using RPGIII.
